Faculty Forum — KY Governor’s Scholars Program

![]()
The following podcast is a recording of the October 2, 2006 Georgetown College Faculty Forum presentation by Jennifer Price and Dr. Scott Tackacs on the Kentucky Governor’s Scholars program. This was the second time I used my new Edirol R-09 recorder. This time, I learned that the 64 Meg memory card that comes with the recorder is only good for about 25 minutes of high quality MP3 recording. I still had the band performance recording stored on the card, so about 5 minutes into the presentation, the recording stopped and showed that the memory card was full. I quickly deleted the band recordings and was able to continue recording a little over half of the presentation before the card was full again.Â
Lesson learned…buy a bigger memory card
! This weekend I’ll be getting a 2 Gig card for the recorder. This should allow for a few hours of high quality recording. Now, as long as the batteries will last that long, I should be in business to record my three hour, graduate classes. Technology…you gotta love it
!. By the way, I did ask the presenters permission before recording their presentation and posting this podcast…always a good idea when dealing with adults and an absolute necessity (parental permission) before doing this in your classrooms.
