Stimulate discussion by asking open-ended questions that don’t have right or wrong answers, but instead, invite thinking and learning: “How do you feel about…?” “What was your take on…?” “When did you realize she was going to…?” You can do this with books and television shows.
Due to snow days, we will be in school this Monday, February 18th.

When reading aloud to your child, discuss new words. For example, “This big house is called a palace. Who do you think lives in a palace?” Remember, your child is never too old to enjoy a good story.
Make sure that your home has lots of reading materials that are appropriate for your child. Keep books, magazines and newspapers in the house. You can find many good books and magazines for your child at yard or library sales. Books make good gifts. If you are having trouble finding or purchasing books for your child, let me know, and I will be happy to help in any way.
