We did not have a weekly meeting today in order to work on our grant continuation process.
Today we discussed the final chapter of Allington’s What Really Matters for Struggling Readers. We discussed some ideas for truly becoming a school that would provide the best atmosphere for expert teachers to teach. Just a reminder to email and let me know if you have any ideas for our next set of meetings.
Today we met to discuss chapter 5 of Richard Allington’s What Really Matters for Struggling Readers. This chapter discussed the importance of thoughtful literacy vs. basic comprehension. If you need notes that were used during this meeting, please let me know and I will get those to you.
I will be out of school to attend the Kentucky Teaching and Learning Conference Thursday, March 8th and Friday, March 9th. I hope to have great information to bring back to you!
We had a great turnout for our birthday party for Dr. Seuss on Friday March 2nd. Over 60 people came to have cake and play games together. We had 20 books given out as door prizes and a special visit from The Cat in the Hat. The children enjoyed having the Cat in the Hat read a book to them. Thanks to everyone who helped to make the party a success!
