Today in our weekly teacher meetings we went over quotes from Richard Allington’s What Really Matters for Struggling Readers.  This chapter discussed the amount of time that students should spend each day actually reading instead of doing worksheets, procedural things, etc.

Family Literacy Night

Our family literacy night will be Tuesday, February 13th.  We will be having a hot dog, chip and soda dinner.  We will also have classrooms open for students to read and take AR tests.  The book fair will also be open for browsing or purchases.

Professional Development

We will be having a meeting after school on February 13th to discuss strategies for working with students at risk and vocabulary.
