Today we discussed the final chapter of Allington’s What Really Matters for Struggling Readers.  We discussed some ideas for truly becoming a school that would provide the best atmosphere for expert teachers to teach.  Just a reminder to email and let me know if you have any ideas for our next set of meetings.

Today we met to discuss chapter 5 of Richard Allington’s What Really Matters for Struggling Readers.  This chapter discussed the importance of thoughtful literacy vs. basic comprehension.  If you need notes that were used during this meeting, please let me know and I will get those to you.

Today in our weekly teacher meetings we went over quotes from Richard Allington’s What Really Matters for Struggling Readers.  This chapter discussed the amount of time that students should spend each day actually reading instead of doing worksheets, procedural things, etc.
